Presence

The struggle with the past is real. At times it shows no mercy; using shame to keep us locked and loaded in mistakes or trauma. The past will want to dominate the present. If your past haunts you the cure is in learning to be present and presence must be fashioned with love and a strong sense of personal and spiritual responsibility. Give yourself to a community that shares your story as experience, strength and hope. Confession will yield mercy and your community should anchor its health in the confession of its faithful. Allow God to permeate every inch of the past by inviting Him into the stories, emotions and affect of the season. The deeper journey is all about living in the present, knowing you are OK, now. Knowing the past should be producing life not shame or guilt. Everything here is hard to face. The past can be a bitch to reconcile, but lean in! Talk, pray, let go and find your greatest freedom in it’s presence.

What haunts you?

Are you interested in spiritual direction? Here’s how to get started.

Step 1. Schedule a complimentary, no-obligation consult. Do that here.

Step 2. Watch your email for questions from me. Before we hop on the phone, I’d like to know a bit about you and what you’d like to get out of spiritual direction or coaching with me.

Step 3. Hit “reply” to that email and answer the questions.

Step 4. At the scheduled time of your consult, we’ll talk! We’ll use the opportunity to make sure we’re the perfect fit.

Step 5. Then we’ll get started! If you decide to work with me, I’ll tell you the exact steps for getting started. If you decide not to work with me or if we aren’t a perfect fit, I’m happy to share other resources to help you get what you need.
