Faith Is Not Outcome

We hope, then pray. We ask in faith for specific outcome. We celebrate in gratitude when things work out. We mourn and doubt when shit hits the fan. With both we hold our spiritual breath, wanting what we want. In that space where the two meet we must use the eyes of the heart or faith to extract what is possible. But faith is not predicated on outcome; it is in the knowing or ability to be conscious of Divine movement in your life. Can you see, hear or feel that God is in you, with you, around you? And can that simply be enough for any given circumstance you need an “outcome” for. Big questions that require you at times to do away with your plans or desires in lieu of joining the love of God regardless of specific outcome. Scripture says faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. That hope and certainty may simply lead to the awareness of God’s love. Can that faith be enough for you?
