Your Problems

The mirror can be the most unforgiving place, seeking beauty is preferred but distortion is usually our first sight. We must remember beauty isn't always truth and truth isn't always beautiful. Our ugly in the mirror tends to be the reflection of “them,” the hard to love. The people who seem to dish us problems. The folks we blame our “shit” on. But mirrors don’t lie, can't lie, and have absolutely no attachment to what they reflect. Living an undefended life is living with a clean reflection of who you are in that mirror. The knowing is key as you self examine. A life in faith is designed to look deep into the soul while taking in the enormity of God’s love and creation. This crazy hyper-vigilant balcony view of who you are is the way to peace. It comes as you divorce yourself from blaming others for your problems. This is hard. We all have stories of wrongs committed to us, against us. We all have trauma at the hands of another. These truths about us must have life, must have words, must find forgiveness and must NOT simply define us. The truth about peace: it is found in the heavy personal excavation work of looking squarely in the mirror.

Who do you see in the mirror?
