Spiritual Decoupage
Finish... as in covering. What do you cover or finish your life with? What do you create that assures safety and security? What covers up the blemishes, the traumas, addictions and love lost? How do you see others seeing you and how much energy is put into making sure the “finishing” is correct? Questions that might elicit the fight or flight response, right? Questions that mark honesty in your life. Some use spiritual decoupage as a glossy finish. The arts and crafts of making sure people know we are OK through our faith. Our bumper stickers, affiliations and beads draped around body parts let folks know our spiritual finish. For example, If you talk about Jesus you must be Jesusing correctly and therefore you've got your shit together. But! Our collective Jesusing, Buddhaing or universal truthing can also be a finish we are destined to remodel. Again, back to the questions…Where are you deriving peace and happiness? How are you learning true self? How are you receiving love and how are you attending to the needs of others?
