Jesus Didn't Create Christianity; You Do
You create Christianity. Jesus had little, if nothing, to do with what has become, for the most part, an egoic rush to hold people in dogmatic certainty. Jesus taught freedom from opposition and oppression. He detailed what it means to love, serve and liberate from systems that exclude and hold judgment over self and community. He didn't carve out rules or dictate processes that would doom people to hell. Jesus asks you, “who do they say I am?” Not, can you please genuflect to my statued presence. Every time you decide to take personal spiritual responsibility for your faith in Christ, you are creating Christianity. We are not to stay glued to the floor, faces pressed into the dirt hoping he sees us or band-aids our human problems. We are to liberate, love, forgive, show mercy, and blindly hold every need to be loved. That's you creating Christianity. Jesus could care less about his nonprofit status or your desire to simply be a lemming to the cause. He wants your voice out loud practicing justice at every turn. That's Christianity. Smash the stained glass! Take your crosses off and take up the teaching of Jesus as it applies to your own resurrection of consciousness. Love one one another… that's Christianity.
