Nothing Decided, Nothing Certain And Covid-19
Fear is a funny little man running around wearing a long brown trench coat, chucking it open at every sign of decision and uncertainty. Hoping his exposure sends you into a wisdom-less frenzy. Today that little man is punishing the world with thoughts of death, destitution, global recession, community distancing and never wiping our asses again with 2-ply. Yes COVID-19 is a problem. Yes it's killing people. But...I really don't have a “but” here. I only have the opportunity to pitch wisdom and common sense to you. It’s too easy to say, “fear not!” It's wise though that we strengthen each other by deciding the little man with the open coat will not decide for us. We need to engage the present as much as we can. The little man will leave if you decide nothing is decided. Nothing is certain as long as we act on wisdom, stay with protocols and have a little faith in the present. For my generation we’ve been here before. As a faith we've been here before. As a people we’ve been here before. COVID-19 is not deciding anything for us and it certainly will not define me through fear. Wash your hands, protect your old people, follow protocols and kick the little man in the balls when he whips open his coat next time!
