Love Is Effortlessness
We chase metrics. The need to excel, prove and win is real. We are driven to consume our own image. Hoping to be burned by the spotlight just long enough to be enough. This self-reflection is hard to take and oftentimes ignored. Our need to be loved is so great that performing for value and worth becomes the construct du jour. Love is not something to work for and not something that must be proved. Love has always supported a pretty radical movement. The idea we don't have to work for it. We don’t have to perform for it. We don’t have to chase it. Love is effortlessness in motion. Love looks like patience and kindness. It does not envy or boast. It is not proud. It has no metrics for judgement and is not self seeking nor easily angered. It keeps no record of wrongs. It has nothing to do with evil and rejoices with the truth. It protects, trusts, and always hopes. Love will persevere and will not fail.
