Listening
Ever considered how much time you spend listening? Not pretending to be paying attention, but actually listening, intent on taking in the essence of who is in front of you. Listening is a lot of things… sacrificial, loving, exhausting, compassionate, healing. Listening is spiritual evacuation. Enabling people to empty out into the love of presence. Words hitting the recognition of heart. Thoughts being touched intimately. Wisdom as experience. We would do well to practice its intention. The Divine seems to listen all day long as we ramble through our days bent on our desires. How much of that energy do we see, touch and then give? Listening may be the greatest form of love and the least understood. We are so quick to be known but slow to receive the heart of another.
