Heartbreak
The heart is designed to break. It breaks most assuredly when hearts are abandoned, betrayed or left alone from the passing of someone we love. It is a movement we must endure. No one is immune to its pain or inevitable lessons. What heartbreak is not; an opportunity to lock down into defensive strategies holding trust only for those who prove they will never hurt us. The heart desires to stay open. It is not weak. It is fortified with the love of God. Your history proves this over and over again. Somehow through heartbreak we stay willing to love. Loving our families, loving our neighbors, even loving strangers in distress. It’s why FB videos of rescued animals or family adoption stories or parents returning home from war to surprise families keep us crying. We long to give and receive love. Our sorrow is rescued by love, not held captive. Yes! The onslaught of tormenting emotions during sorrowful times is crippling to say the least, but sorrow becomes the fuel to draw back into the life of love. Keeping us pinned to how we've loved and how we will love again. Allowing healing, restoration and reconciliation. Sorrow will need space and time. Let mourning, grieving and sadness do its thing. These emotions are life support for the broken heart and will serve as wise guides as you feel the peace of the Divine guarding your heart.
