Hard To Love

Learning to love means taking the spotlight off of you. Hard, to say the least. It means facing your selfishness. It means discovering you've made giving and receiving love hard for yourself and others. Or realizing love is sacrifice. Giving of yourself at depths you simply may be unwilling to go because past hurts and traumas are the measure for all future endeavors in love. That chops your intimate field down, leaving you guarded and unable to give your heart to another and unable to love yourself and God. The selfishness of our “hard to love” moments is fraught with tears. You must come to grips with how much you really do protect yourself from feelings and how much selfishness gnarls up your landscape. Heart break sucks regardless of the circumstances. No one wants the tears. No one wants the pain of love lost. But! The heart is designed to break and it is designed to transform in Divine love that will always shelter and cover the most egregious of “hard to love” moments.
