Awareness Needs Exercise

Every spiritual teacher on the planet tells you, “let go!” but never tells you how! Our collective human journey needs practicality. It's not enough to simply know stuff. We need to exercise our awareness. The spiritual journey can get muddy, and frankly a bit esoteric, which is even more reason for a few learned dance steps along the way to enlightenment. To be clear, you've got to get off your ass and do stuff! Feed the homeless. Adopt kids. Pray. Learn a spiritual practice. Call an old friend. Work on humility. Stay sober. Communicate better. The list goes on and on and on. The exercising of unitive consciousness and or self-awareness means you leave yourself a bit and engage in something other than the desire to simply keep yourself safe and secure. The spiritual life, for the record, is neither safe nor secure. We are made to love, both to give and receive. In that we must put into motion a heart that seeks to serve. Letting go is accomplished when you decide your life is not your own. How do you do that? Please see the above list and work from there.

How will you exercise your awareness?

Are you interested in spiritual direction? Here’s how to get started.

Step 1. Schedule a complimentary, no-obligation consult. Do that here.

Step 2. Watch your email for questions from me. Before we hop on the phone, I’d like to know a bit about you and what you’d like to get out of spiritual direction or coaching with me.

Step 3. Hit “reply” to that email and answer the questions.

Step 4. At the scheduled time of your consult, we’ll talk! We’ll use the opportunity to make sure we’re the perfect fit.

Step 5. Then we’ll get started! If you decide to work with me, I’ll tell you the exact steps for getting started. If you decide not to work with me or if we aren’t a perfect fit, I’m happy to share other resources to help you get what you need.
