Surrender Produces Maturity
What most people don't tell you about letting go is it involves confronting the ego. It means looking at yourself in the mirror. It’s too easy to blame, fault-find and pin your pain on other people, places and things. That kind of movement in your life will produce glorious, contemptuous monotony and that sucks the life out of any party. On the other hand, surrender, or the ability to humbly accept yourself (the good, bad and ugly), produces a state of spiritual maturity. Yes, it will stretch you. In others words, the looking at yourself can be painful, but that maturity learns to receive and give love. Love that most often is determined to be Divine. By which the fruits often look like joy, peace, patience, forgiveness and empathy. A wonderful combination for a life with nothing to prove and nothing to lose.
