Scarcity Breeds Faithful Paranoia
The desperate search is real. From endless hours scrolling social trying to feel good about ourselves, to the endless supply of stuff and projects that create success. The ideology of scarcity is real and it's kicking our asses. Fueled by ego and fear and, ironically, an endless supply of shit to buy and ingest. We have come to believe we simply won’t have enough or be enough. This energy breeds one thing: faithful paranoia. The idea that God may never deliver on our “needs.” Scarcity sucks the loving air out of the room and asks us to go it alone; forget community, forget faith, forget help, forget love, and stockpile everything from cash to affection in those times of stretching, just in case the Divine doesn't understand our need. Think about your day to day needs; the absolutes that get you through 24 hours. Your physical needs, emotional needs, spiritual needs and how many prayers have been prayed for those needs? And at this point can you see any of those prayers as a Divine job done? We tend to forget about answered prayer. Scarcity is a subtle foe vying for our spiritual attention. Killing scarcity will mean challenging your “enoughness.” Does stuff make you you? Does another's love make you you? Can you allow Divine love to fill those holes in your life that keep you wanting and scrolling for hours on end?
