Save Two Minutes, Now!

This morning I read an updated article on the impeachment inquiry. Before moving into the first paragraph the author told me, I’d read it in three minutes. Giving me the opportunity to bail or challenge myself into 90 seconds of uninterrupted Trump stimulation. Ultimately hoping I’d think 3 minutes wasn't a big deal and I go all in. I did. But! Game on! The interwebs webs are vying for every second of our day. We are being bombarded by messaging that is moving us away from the natural, away from slow, away from peace, away from thought, away from thinking, away from contemplation and away from the ability to love. Google maps tried to save me two minutes the other day, 2 minutes! When was the last time you were silent for two minutes, prayed for 2 minutes, listened for two minutes, sat and stared out a window for two minutes? Pay attention today... the desire to capture your everything is real. The digital wants to own what you are seeing, hearing and feeling. It would do us well to recapture self, take back the ability to think and reset the metrics of natural human rhythms. As a spiritual director, the one thing I am most concerned about is the death of consciousness with the Divine. All the “timing” distractions and bait into purchasing are fueling an awareness that says we don't need to listen deeply to what moves us, what loves us, what holds peace in us. I encourage you… find stillness today, find quite, find silence, find a moment to feel your heartbeat, your breath. Look deeply into the eyes of someone you love for two minutes and love them without the interwebs lurking in the background.

Are you interested in working with J.R.? Here’s how to get started.

Step 1. Schedule a complimentary, no-obligation consult. Do that here.

Step 2. Watch your email for questions from me. Before we hop on the phone, I’d like to know a bit about you and what you’d like to get out of spiritual direction or coaching with me.

Step 3. Hit “reply” to that email and answer the questions.

Step 4. At the scheduled time of your consult, we’ll talk! We’ll use the opportunity to make sure we’re the perfect fit.

Step 5. Then we’ll get started! If you decide to work with me, I’ll tell you the exact steps for getting started. If you decide not to work with me or if we aren’t a perfect fit, I’m happy to share other resources to help you get what you need.
