Practice For The Present

Here are three practices to keep you in the present:

BODY

Check in on your body:

  1. How does your body feel?

  2. Is any part your body feeling pain?

  3. What in your body feels well?

  4. Can you feel your heart beating?

  5. Is your jaw clenched?

  6. Is there any stress in any body parts?

  7. Take a few minutes and feel your heartbeat. 

  8. Take a few minutes and feel your lungs. 

  9. Take a few minutes and relax your body as a whole.

MIND

Check in on your mind:

  1. What thoughts are dominating your thinking?

  2. Is your thinking positive or negative? 

  3. Is fear or anxiety dominating your thinking? 

  4. Is a person dominating your thinking? 

  5. Is work dominating your thinking?

  6. Are there thoughts you need to share? 

  7. Are you thinking about what others think of you?

  8. Does your mind need rest?

  9. Can you slow your thinking?

  10. Focus on a word or phrase that calms you. Repeat it for a few minutes.

SPIRIT

Check in on your spirit:

  1. Are you able to hear your inner voice?

  2. What is your inner voice wanting?

  3. What do you desire?

  4. What are your needs?

  5. Are you able to invite the Divine into your wants, needs and desires?

  6. Are you curious beyond your five senses?

  7. Are you able to sit in stillness? 

  8. What is your prayer right now?

  9. Sit in silence for a few minutes allow that inner voice to be heard.
