Opinions Are Easy
Opinions are easy. Too easy. The internet is filled with voices. The majority of which are mindless echoes of dogmatic ideologies bent on control. Yes! You can have your opinion, but as one brilliant philosopher put it, “opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one.” My first spiritual teacher would tell me, “If I want your opinion I'll give it to you!” He’d smile after he’d say it but I knew what he was getting at. There’s a humility in learning everything you think doesn't need air to fly. That humility allows you to listen, to hear the needs of others or God forbid, fall away from the false senses of certainty and duality we crave to keep us “safe.” I am not suggesting you keep your mouth shut. I am asking you to consider humility as wisdom. Scripture suggests wisdom is pure, peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and bears good fruit, impartial and sincere. If your opinions wear that kind of life those would be the ones to share.
