I Wish You Heartache

There is an art to understanding, “bad shit” happens. Car accidents, sickness, betrayal, addiction, death, job loss, relationship strife. It’s part of the package you come with, although rarely are we taught that. Instead, we wrap our lives with the pretty pictures dreams paint, casting the icky nasty stuff into the bad luck bin, not enough faith bin, satan is doing it bin or you simply didn't work hard enough bin. All learning, maturing is accompanied with experience and I pray experience fills your life with heartache, disappointment, pain, loss, grief and the need to receive love. It is the way to make dreams come true. Experience roots, it builds you into relationships, it holds you in faith, it allows love to be cause, it seeks who you are and why you do what you do. Allow the cat out of the bag, bite the bullet, celebrate when the other shoe drops. Take hold of your life, believe in the “bad shit,” believe its value to march you into Divine love. There is no protection, control or process keeping you safe from pain… we must join its beautiful place in our lives. You can't make all the right moves and that should feel like relief not pressure. Give yourself the gift of experience, take risks, challenge faith, be known to those who love you, expose your fears. Shitty circumstances is not fate, shitty circumstances is life giving and its teaching you to love. The next time you hit a season of pain, look for the neon arrow pointing you to love, it's there, promise. You may have to beat your ego to the ground or walk through fear or God forbid hit your knees and relinquish power but that arrow is there, big, red and blinking… waiting for you.
