Ambition
Ambition and passion…not the same thing. One denies the other. The other allows grace in failure. We frequently place ambition in front of passion as the only mechanism to achieve success. We tend to do that at any cost. Passion deserves more than self-centered play. Passion is the flow of true self. Passion requires introspection. It needs unbridled space to roam, test and fail. Ambition isn’t necessarily an enemy. It simply sets achievement as the goal, not the passion itself. Inevitably passion will be marked with a failure. Learning to see that failure is part of the journey in loving self which ambition only sees as demoralization. Ambition wants one thing: achievement. Love your passion enough to allow ambition the passenger seat instead of the driver's seat. I am NOT saying don't be successful. I am asking you to value your passion as a wonderful part of who you are and not simply a ticket to success.
